Always Learning and Achieving Together

Week beg 15.6.20

Hi King-Smith Class

I hope that you are all doing well with your learning at home and that you are trying your hardest.  The activities that I am putting on for your learning this week we are also completing at school too.

I would love to read the 'Bubble poems' that you write because I know how creative you are.  Please if you are able can you email in copies of them to the school office and then Mrs Gosal and myself can read and enjoy them.

I have attached a 2D shape maths sheet this week in case you are finding the Fractions work challenging or if you would like to do some extra learning.  Look for examples of these around your homes and record other examples of 2D shapes that you also know.

In PSHE this week with learnt about Rosa Parks an American lady whose behaviour changed the rules of American society, and led towards equality and justice for everyone, whatever the colour of their skin.  We used the video: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/history-ks1-ks2-rosa-parks/z7rtvk7   to discuss what she did and also related it to what is happening in the world now.

In Art we have been developing our drawing skills using: https://www.artforkidshub.com/  So far we have drawn an Owl and this last week we drew a Sea Turtle and a Dolphin which we then cut out and placed on a painted background to create an Ocean Scene.  Even Mrs Gosal and myself are having a go to up level our skills.

The 100 word stories competition winners are now online for you to read.  We are going to share some in school this week.

If you need any support with anything then please phone or email the school office and I will be happy to help you.

If you haven't already then please sign up for the Library Reading Challenge as this will motivate you with your reading.

Take care and keep smiling.

Mrs Andrews smiley
