Term 1 Week 1
Well done to Katie and Adam who received 'Thoughtfulness' certificates in our celebration assembly. Caitlyn was awarded 'Star Learner' for all the effort she has put in this week. Max was voted as Citizen of the Week, and Kelsie and Elisha are our Sports People this week. Congratulations to everyone.
Term 1 Week 2
Well done to Charlotte and Corey for receiving certificates in assembly for making good choices. This week sports people were Riley and Lily-May for demonstrating good ball control and determination in football skills. The children voted for Nevaeh as their Citizen of the Week. Finally, Katie was awarded Star Learner for effort in all learning throughout the week. She also enjoyed helping other learners in the class with key words - thank you to Katie.
Term 1 Week 3
Well done to Robert who is our star learner this week for amazing effort in maths. Robert used equipment to help him work out 2X, 5X and 10X table facts. Co-operation certificates were awarded to Thalia and Alfie for helping others with their learning. They demonstrated patience and excellent co-operation. This week our sports people are Anais and Charlotte Ta for superb control of the ball and amazing resilience. Finally, the children voted for Seamus as their 'Citizen of the Week'. Well done to everyone.
Term 1 Week 4
Well done to Lillie who was invited to Mr Bacon's tea party. Lillie worked hard all week and demonstrated good concentration throughout all lessons. Finley and Ann-Marie were awarded co-operation certificates - for playing co-operatively with their friends and working well with their class mates. Elisha was awarded sports person of the week for perseverance in a team game. The class voted for Sophie as their Citizen of the Week. A huge well done to all children who achieved 25 home reads - Charlotte T, Corey, Anais and Robert. Keep it up and you'll soon be at 50 home reads! Finally, congratulations to Charlotte Tu who is our 'Star Learner' of the week for excellent effort while writing her recount of our trip to the SS Great Britain.
Term 1 Week 5
Well done to our award winners this week. Sam and Adam are sports people this week because of their amazing control of the ball whilst dribbling. Vesperlynn was voted Citizen of the Week by her peers. Co-operation certificates were presented to Sean and Riley for superb group work and taking in turns. Sean has also worked very hard with his learning partner. The 'Star Learner' this week is Lillie for her amazing Brunel report in which she used a heading and sub-headings clearly. Finally, Seamus took the golden ticket to have a tea party with Mr Bacon. He is not in our photo as he was still at the party! Well done to all children who achieved their 25 reading nights at home - you have all gone in the Golden Book!
Term 1 Week 6
Well done to Sean and Lillie who achieved 25 reads this week. Who will be the first to 50 reads? Our star learner this week is Max for super effort all week in maths and 'Brunel' learning. Max really pushed himself and worked hard. Our sports person was also Max because of his resilience and determination, especially when up against a good team. Thalia was voted as 'Citizen of the Week' - well done. Award winners for our 'co-operative learning' value were Caitlyn and Lily-May.
Term 2 Week 1
Well done to all those children who achieved 50 reads this week. There was a lot of amazing reading during the holiday! Our star learner this week is a superb learning partnership. Sean and Kelsie worked co-operatively and with thoughtfulness to each other to design and complete a firework safety poster. Well done for demonstrating both learning values we have worked on this year. Our sports person is Finley because of his thinking skills! He thought about decisions he had to make when playing our '4 sides' game and demonstrated great tactics! Alfie was voted as 'Citizen of the Week' - well done. Award winners for our 'co-operative learning' value were Sam and Lily-May for also working well together to design a safety poster (second week for Lily-may).
Term 2 Week 2
Well done to all award winners this week. Lily-May was chosen as Star Learner for her amazing effort in all learning this week. Katie was awarded sports person of the week for her resilience and effort when working with our FA sports coach.
Term 2 Week 4
Well done to Autumn who was chosen as star learner this week. Autumn is working hard to improve her reading, writing and maths skills. Vesperlynn was awarded Sports Person for good leadership skills in football.
Term 2 Week 5
WOW! What a lot of children have achieved 50 and 75 reads at home - well done to you all. Keep up the great reading. I wonder who will be the first to get to 100 reads? This week Katie was awarded a 'Thoughtfulness' award for her continued care, kindness and awareness of the feelings of other people around her. Charlotte Tou was invited to Mr Bacon's tea party for her amazing effort in all learning - keep this up! Well done to Thalia who was chosen by our football coach for super teamwork and improved control of the ball. Finally, congratulations to Riley who was given the role of 'Star Learner' as he achieved our learning target 'Keep trying, even if it is difficult'. PHOTO AWAITING
Term 2 Week 6
Well done to everyone. What a brilliant show! Thank you to my 4 main actors, all narrators and dancers. You were all amazing! The Christmas Recipe was a huge hit! Congratulations to all of France Class - you are all stars. However, Lily-May was elected as star learner for effort in all lessons. A particular well done to Autumn who was awarded the Outstanding Progress in Reading whole school award. However, everyone has worked hard this term and tried their best. Please have a wonderful holiday and get ready for more amazing learning in term 3!
Term 3 Week 2
Well done to those children who have achieved 100 reads this term! Well done to Finley who was awarded Star Learner for effort in all learning. You have worked so hard this week! Max and Charlotte Tou were particularly resilient when learning their maths this week. They found it tricky but didn't give up! Also Alfie was awarded Sports Person of the week for swimming without armbands! WOW! Elisha was voted Citizen of the Week by her peers. We have focused on respect (our learning value) and have awarded children with house points for showing respect to other people, their friends and school property.
Term 3 Week 3
Well done to Callum who was voted Citizen of the Week. Elisha was awarded Learner of the Week because of her effort in writing this week. She wrote an excellent set of instructions to make porridge and worked hard to keep handwriting neat - remembering to whoosh and flick! A team worked when when testing our taste buds and were awarded co-operation certificates for sharing, turn taking and including all members of the group. Autumn was awarded Sports person due to effort in swimming - she took her feet off the bottom of the pool!
Term 3 Week 4
Well done to Robert who was voted Citizen of the Week. You were particularly good at reminding other children to put on their coats! Charlotte Tav went to the Tea Party with Mr Bacon for outstanding effort in all learning.
Term 4 Week 1
Well done to all those children who achieved 100, 125 and even 150 reads at home! Nevaeh was awarded Learner of the Week for outstanding effort in all learning. Nevaeh demonstrated excellent learning skills and resilience. Zac and Lillie were awarded resilience certificates for their resilience in learning this week - for having another go when it didn't go right the first time. Finley was voted Citizen of the Week by his peers. Charlotte was awarded Sports Person of the week for her 'get ready position' when catching the ball. A superb start in Term 4 - well done everyone.
Term 4 Week 3
Well done to Lillie who was awarded star learner for 100% effort and improvement in writing. Lillie is now writing neatly with pace and some amazing phrases. Callum was awarded a resilience award for trying the harder challenges in maths and not giving up. Robert was awarded Sports Person of the Week for excellent thinking skills when playing a game and Lily-May was voted Citizen of the Week by her peers. She always makes good choices and is kind to everyone. Well done to everyone for excellent behaviour on our trip to Chippenham Museum. The coach driver was very impressed!
Term 5 Week 2
What a brilliant start to the term! Everyone has returned to school refreshed and ready to learn. Children are trying hard to improve their communication skills and are using good listening, looking and eye contact in their learning. This week Ann-Marie was awarded Learner of the Week because of her effort in all lessons. Well done. Ann-Marie wrote an amazing report about the human skeleton. Anais and Kelsie were awarded communication certificates for using excellent communication to explain their learning to the class. Seamus is sports person this week for demonstrating excellent 'ice-cream scoop' technique when retrieving a rolling ball. Also citizen of the week is Lillie - well done to your all.
Term 5 Week 3
Well done to Sam who is our Learner of the Week. Sam wrote clear instructions to explain how to make a healthy sandwich. He then demonstrated to the whole school in our celebration assembly. Keep up the great learning Sam!
Term 5 Week 4
This week Sophie has been awarded Learner of the Week for her resilience and hard work. She concentrated well when writing her letter to Firefighter Jan and worked well independently when solving + - problems. Riley was awarded a communication certificate for clear speaking in class and Katie for explaining learning to the class and her peers. Georgia was voted Citizen of the Week - what a great start to France Class!
Term 5 Week 6
This week Sam went to Mr Bacon's tea party for demonstrating his excellent reading comprehension skills - these skills will help you enormously in the future! Georgia was awarded Learner of the Week for her hard work in changing her writing style to cursive - great whooshes and flicks! Anais and Adam received Communication certificates for talking clearly and in detail about their reading books. Charlotte was voted Citizen of the Week by her peers. Well done to all of France class for your hard work and resilience this week.
Term 6 Week 1
What brilliant learning this week. Well done to Charlotte and Riley who received communication awards, Charlotte for clear speaking and great listening and Riley for super written communication - instructions on how to grow a carrot seed. Alfie is Star Learner this week for his effort when writing his instructions. Keep up the great work. Ann-Marie was voted as Citizen of the Week. Anais, Kelsie, Lily-May, Elisha and Charlotte were voted 'sports team' of the week for amazing fielding.
Term 6 Week 2
That an amazing week - you are all stars this week. We worked hard during Eden Week. Our planter looks superb and bugs have already moved into our bug hotel! Alfie was voted sports person of the week for excellent cricket skills and determination. Sam was voted Learner of the Week for sharing his expertise and helping us make our bug hotel. A huge thank you to everyone who came into help.
