Donaldson (EYFS)

Welcome to Donaldson Class

Mrs Jenkins (class teacher), Mrs Webb (class TA-full time), Mrs Bicknell (class TA-am) are so happy to be spending another term with you all, your last term in Reception! You have made such a wonderful start to your school learning journey and we will really miss you when this school year finishes. You will be amazing in Year 1!

Our class is named after the author Julia Donaldson, who wrote stories such as The Gruffalo, Stick Man, A Squash and a Squash and many, many more! Do you know any Julia Donaldson stories?

Please come and speak to any of the EYFS team if you have any questions or queries; we are always happy to help.

Term 6

Our topic will be 'All Around the World' and we will be learning about towns, cities and the countryside, desert and polar regions and comparing and contrasting these places.

We will also begin our Maths Passports (helping to develop rapid recall of key facts). More information to follow!

This term we will continue to focus on Phase 4 sounds in phonics - this uses previously learnt phonemes (see below; phase 2 and phase 3 sounds), plus new tricky words.

Please look at the curriculum information (T6) below for more details of all the wonderful learning we will be enjoying.

PE:  CHANGE OF DAYS!

This term (T6) PE will be on Mondays and Thursdays. Children WILL need to wear PE kit to school on these days.

On Thursdays we are very lucky as we will have PE with our Sports Coach.

PE kit:

  • Plain black / navy joggers and a plain black / navy sweatshirt or ‘hoodie’ or a normal blue school jumper.
  • Plain black / navy shorts, plain white t-shirt or white t-shirt with school logo.
  • Daps or Trainers for outdoor PE (Fridays). Daps for indoor PE (Tuesdays).

Please do not wear different colours or clothes with other logos.

Google Classroom:

Please make sure you have logged on to Google Classroom, as this is where I will send messages and add the Home Learning (every Friday).

If you would like a paper copy of the home learning, just let me know!
