Interim Resource Base Leader

Salary: Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS), dependent on experience
Allowances:

  • SEN Allowance (minimum, in line with STPCD)

Contract: Fixed-term, interim post to cover maternity leave, until July 2027

Frogwell Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled, and committed Interim Resource Base Leader to lead our Complex Needs Resource Base (CNRB). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate teacher to play a key role in shaping high-quality provision for pupils with complex learning needs within a supportive and inclusive school community.

 

About the Role

The Interim Resource Base Leader will provide professional leadership and direction for the Complex Needs Resource Base, ensuring pupils receive outstanding provision and make strong holistic progress. Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will lead teaching, learning, assessment, and inclusion within the CNRB, while promoting meaningful links with mainstream provision.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on teaching expertise and offers the opportunity to make a significant and lasting difference to pupils’ lives during this interim period.

 

About You

 

We are looking for a practitioner who:

  • Is an excellent classroom teacher with a strong commitment to inclusive practice
  • Has experience of working with pupils with SEND, including complex learning needs
  • Has a secure understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes, including Annual Reviews
  • Can provide clear leadership and professional guidance to staff
  • Is committed to high expectations, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
  • Is reflective, collaborative, and keen to continue developing professionally

Experience of working within a specialist resource base or leading SEND provision is desirable, but we also welcome applications from candidates ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.

Resource Base Class Teacher

Frogwell Primary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated, compassionate and skilled Teacher to work within our Complex Needs Resource Base.

 

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to inclusive education and making a meaningful difference to the lives of pupils with complex special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).


The Role

 

The successful candidate will teach and support pupils within the school’s Complex Needs Resource Base, working closely with the SENCo, specialist staff, teaching assistants and external professionals to provide high-quality, personalised learning experiences.

You will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to pupils with complex SEND
  • Plan and implement personalised learning programmes linked to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes
  • Support pupils’ development across communication, independence, emotional regulation and social skills
  • Create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with a skilled team of teaching assistants
  • Liaise effectively with parents/carers and external agencies
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and SEND processes
  • Promote high expectations for learning, behaviour and wellbeing

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

 

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
  • Has experience delivering high-quality teaching in a primary setting
  • Is committed to inclusive practice and supporting pupils with SEND
  • Can adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning, communication and sensory needs
  • Has strong behaviour management and a calm, nurturing approach
  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • Has high expectations for pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families

Experience or Training in the Following Would Be Particularly Valuable:

 

  • Teaching pupils with complex SEND
  • Supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Autism support strategies
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) or visual communication systems
  • Positive behaviour support or de-escalation approaches (e.g. Team Teach or similar)
  • Working alongside external professionals such as speech and language therapists or occupational therapists
  • Supporting pupils with sensory or communication needs

 

However, we welcome applications from teachers who are passionate about SEND and willing to develop their expertise through professional development.
