Always Learning and Achieving Together

Welcome to Morpurgo Class

Teacher: Mrs Andrews

We are so happy to be working with the children in Year 5 this year and watching them grow and achieve together as a class.

Term 1:

This term in Art we will be exploring what mediums can be used to represent the Hokusai Wave.  In R.E we will be learning about what makes the Torah sacred to Jews and in Science we will be investigating living things and their habitats. We also have Mr Donovan weekly to teach us the Ukelele.

You can find knowledge organisers and the topic map for this term by clicking on Curriculum Information.

This term P.E will be on Tuesday and Friday afternoon. In our outdoor sports session we will be having the Sports Coach,

Please remember to come to school in the correct P.E kit, this is still an important part of our school uniform policy.

You should wear: Plain black / navy shortsplain white t-shirt,  daps for indoor PE,  trainers for outdoor PEPlain black / navy joggers and a plain black / navy sweatshirt or ‘hoodie’ may be worn for cold weather outdoor PE in the winter. Please remember to pack socks for those who wear tights with their normal school clothes.

Home Learning:

Please remember to read at home a minimum of 5 times a week and record this on the Go-Read app.  Reading is really important to help you with your learning so enjoy reading lots of different types of books and texts.  Chippenham Library is now open again so why not join and use this brilliant local resource.

Each week you will have home learning set on Friday and it is due in on Wednesday. If you need help with completing your home learning then I will be very happy to help you on Tuesday lunchtimes.

This will be set on Google Classroom.
