Each child will have two homework books - a yellow maths book and a green general book.
Maths homework will be given out on Wednesday and must be handed in by the following Monday. The work will be related to the class learning from that week as well as arithmetic revision.
Spellings will be given out on a Friday (in the form of a spelling practice sheet), to be learnt by Monday.
Reading should be done every night, with a parents' comment in the reading record book at least twice a week.
Other homework will be issued on Friday to be returned by the following Monday. It will usually be a task related to learning from the class that week.
I have not set any official homework for the half term - the children have been working hard and deserve a rest! However, it is really important that all children read every day. In addition, if children are not yet confident on their times table facts for all tables up to 12 x 12, they really must try to learn them as soon as possible. There are many fun ways to do this, including the BBC Supermovers website which sets the tables to music and combine them with actions.
