Healthy Schools update

Frogwell School is in the process of reaccrediting our Healthy Schools award and this time we are aiming to achieve a silver level. All classes have been involved in looking in detail at the ‘Eatwell Plate’ and discussing how to make healthier food choices. The NSPCC visited the school earlier this term to carry out whole school assemblies and then returned to lead some more detailed workshops for the Year 5 and 6 children. This helped the children to discuss ways to keep themselves safe and also linked to our focus work around Anti-bullying.

In Terms 3 & 4 we will be promoting healthy snacks and lunch choices. Mrs Andrews is planning to start a SNAG (School Nutrition Action Group) next term to look at ways of promoting healthier food choices in school. If you are interested in joining this group, please can you see Mrs Andrews in Canada Class.
