Sports Day – Wednesday 8th July 2026
On Wednesday 8th July, the children took part in a carousel of fun sporting activities during the annual Frogwell Sports Day. They tested their speed, agility and coordination, with some even getting a little wet along the way; who keeps letting Mr Pierce loose on the water activity?!
It was a fantastic morning, and the children all performed brilliantly, demonstrating determination, perseverance and excellent teamwork throughout. Teams were awarded points for each activity and, after careful calculation, the Green team were announced as the overall winners with a whopping 2855 points. A big well done also to the Blue team and the Yellow team with 2805 points and 2345 points respectively!
A huge thank you to our wonderful staff team for all of their help, and to the parents and guardians who came along to support the children and make the morning so memorable. Finally, a big well done to all the children for trying their very best and making Sports Day such an enjoyable and successful event.

Chippenham Games - 16th June 2026
The Chippenham Games provided two fantastic days of sport, teamwork and celebration, bringing together Year 6 children from across the local area in preparation for their transition to secondary schools. The event began with a colourful team procession, setting the tone for an exciting and memorable experience.
After taking the Games Pledge, pupils took part in a wide range of activities including archery, golf, rugby, lacrosse, dance, frisbee, fitness, the mini marathon and more. Supported by young leaders from the three local secondary schools, the children embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, determination and plenty of smiles. The event celebrated friendship, participation and personal achievement, with children encouraged to try their best, have fun and make new friends. It was wonderful to see these values on display!
Mini London Marathon - Friday 17th April 2026
What a day! Friday’s Mini Marathon Event was a fantastic celebration of running and the joy and excitement it brings.
The wonderful sports leaders from Chippenham Sports Partnership did a whistle-stop tour of 13 local primary schools; leading an energetic and invigorating warm-up dance. From the moment they arrived at Frogwell, the energy was incredible – dancing along to the Boogie and the YMCA to get everyone ready to go. It was brilliant to see so many smiling faces, with teachers and support staff joining in and helping to create such a positive atmosphere.
The enthusiasm, effort, and spirit shown by all pupils was truly inspiring. You were amazing!
We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
Easter Hunt Event - Friday 27th March 2026
What an egg-straordinary day we had at the Chippenham Sports Partnership Easter Hunt Event at the Dome!
Our Year 1 children hopped in, full of excitement, meeting the Easter Bunny, the Easter Unicorn, and all their egg-cellent helpers! The smiles were as bright as spring sunshine, and the energy was simply un-bee-lievable!
The children kept busy with a basket full of fun activities, including BINGO, target games, “Stealing the Nest,” and a very special Easter-themed dance that had everyone cracking up and showing off their best moves.
All participants worked egg-ceptionally hard and were rewarded with stickers for trying their best—what a cracking effort from everyone! A huge congratulations to our Team Leader Champion, who took home an egg-citing Easter egg key ring prize!
A big thank you and well done to everyone who took part. We hope you all had an egg-mazing time… we certainly did!
All Active Academy - Friday 13th March 2026
Today, children from Frogwell and four other local primary schools attended All Active Academy; an event designed to introduce them to new activities and encourage them to get involved in different sports.
The event focused on giving children the chance to try something they may not have experienced before, helping to build confidence, develop new skills and, most importantly, have fun while being active.
Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of engaging activities. One of the highlights was the climbing wall, where participants searched for hidden treasure while bouldering their way across the wall. This challenge combined problem-solving with physical activity and quickly became a favourite among the group.
Children also had the opportunity to try New Age Kurling, where they practised their aim and strategy, as well as a variety of target practice challenges using different objects to test their accuracy and coordination.
The energy, teamwork and enthusiasm shown by all the children made the day a huge success, and it was fantastic to see so many smiles throughout the event.

Chippenham Dance Festival 2026
What an absolutely phenomenal evening at the Chippenham Dance Festival!
This year saw 12 Chippenham primary schools, the talented performers from Chippenham Dance Academy, and students from all three Chippenham secondary schools come together in a true celebration of dance.
From high-energy basketball routines and playful hide-and-seek sequences, to hobbies brought to life through dance, Mario and Tetris-inspired creativity, and even those unforgettable Steve’s Lava Chicken moves — the imagination on display was incredible. The choreography was sharp, inventive and full of personality.
Beyond the routines, what truly stood out was the fun and laughter. The teamwork. The pride. The sense of achievement on those children’s faces. A big THANK YOU Mrs Akin and Mrs Gosal for their hard work choreographing, rehearsing and preparing the children and to Mrs Bain for hair and make-up on the night. Of course, a special mention must go to our fabulous Year 5 commentators, Ava and Natalia – what a team!!

Year 5 - Mini Mudder - Friday 30th January 2026
Children from Frogwell arrived at Sheldon Secondary School last Friday full of excitement and ready to throw themselves into a series of action-packed stations designed to challenge both their mental and physical strength.
The Mini Mudders tackled a range of imaginative challenges, including Ninja Cone Snatch, where budding ninja warriors weaved their way through obstacles to collect power cones and restore calm at the Ninja Dojo. In Duck, Roll and Smash, children jumped walls (tackle cylinders), ducked under laser beams (lacrosse sticks), and pushed over the final power tower to save the city.
Another highlight was the Secret Agent Mission, where children were blindfolded and guided by their teammates over, under, and through tricky obstacles — a brilliant test of trust, communication, and teamwork.
While we managed to stay dry, the children definitely didn’t stay clean! It was wonderful to see everyone getting muddy, laughing, and having so much fun together. A truly fantastic way to finish the week!
