King-Smith (Year 3)

Welcome to King-Smith Class

Teachers: Mrs Shiles (Mon-Fri (June) Mon-Thurs (July)) Mrs Cooper (Fri - July)

Teaching assistant: Mrs Cabezas

Term 6

We have an exciting final term of learning and celebrations ahead in King-Smith Class. Including Sport's Day, Class Assembly, Voices of Friendships and more!

In Writing, we will be writing a tragedy story, focusing on utilising all the skills we've practised this year to describe and develop our characters by using emotive language to convey their feelings! We'll then be looking at how amazing our brains our whilst writing an instructional text.

In Maths, we will be moving into geometry and key vocabulary around shapes, 3D and 2D shapes, parallel and perpendicular lines, horizontal and vertical lines. We will also look at angles, including right angles, obtuse and acute and how to identify and compare these. As well as consolidating our learning from Year 3.

In Geography, we will be exploring rainforests, looking at where they are on Earth and then identifying the features of a rainforest before beginning to see how our own woodlands are used.

In Science, we will complete the life cycle of a plant and look at how our plants have grown and changed over time, explore more about pollination and how this enables seeds to form and how plants then disperse these.

Please see the attached curriculum map for more detail as well as subject-specific knowledge organisers.
