All Active Academy - Friday 13th March 2026

Today, children from Frogwell and four other local primary schools attended All Active Academy; an event designed to introduce them to new activities and encourage them to get involved in different sports.

The event focused on giving children the chance to try something they may not have experienced before, helping to build confidence, develop new skills and, most importantly, have fun while being active.

Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of engaging activities. One of the highlights was the climbing wall, where participants searched for hidden treasure while bouldering their way across the wall. This challenge combined problem-solving with physical activity and quickly became a favourite among the group.

Children also had the opportunity to try New Age Kurling, where they practised their aim and strategy, as well as a variety of target practice challenges using different objects to test their accuracy and coordination.

The energy, teamwork and enthusiasm shown by all the children made the day a huge success, and it was fantastic to see so many smiles throughout the event.

Chippenham Dance Festival 2026

What an absolutely phenomenal evening at the Chippenham Dance Festival!

This year saw 12 Chippenham primary schools, the talented performers from Chippenham Dance Academy, and students from all three Chippenham secondary schools come together in a true celebration of dance.

From high-energy basketball routines and playful hide-and-seek sequences, to hobbies brought to life through dance, Mario and Tetris-inspired creativity, and even those unforgettable Steve’s Lava Chicken moves — the imagination on display was incredible. The choreography was sharp, inventive and full of personality.

Beyond the routines, what truly stood out was the fun and laughter. The teamwork. The pride. The sense of achievement on those children’s faces. A big THANK YOU Mrs Akin and Mrs Gosal for their hard work choreographing, rehearsing and preparing the children and to Mrs Bain for hair and make-up on the night. Of course, a special mention must go to our fabulous Year 5 commentators, Ava and Natalia – what a team!!

Year 5 - Mini Mudder - Friday 30th January 2026

Children from Frogwell arrived at Sheldon Secondary School last Friday full of excitement and ready to throw themselves into a series of action-packed stations designed to challenge both their mental and physical strength.

The Mini Mudders tackled a range of imaginative challenges, including Ninja Cone Snatch, where budding ninja warriors weaved their way through obstacles to collect power cones and restore calm at the Ninja Dojo. In Duck, Roll and Smash, children jumped walls (tackle cylinders), ducked under laser beams (lacrosse sticks), and pushed over the final power tower to save the city.

Another highlight was the Secret Agent Mission, where children were blindfolded and guided by their teammates over, under, and through tricky obstacles — a brilliant test of trust, communication, and teamwork.

While we managed to stay dry, the children definitely didn’t stay clean! It was wonderful to see everyone getting muddy, laughing, and having so much fun together. A truly fantastic way to finish the week!
