Welcome to USA class!
We are lucky to have a fantastic team working with us this year! Along with Mrs Munday are Mrs Duncan, Mrs Martinson, Mrs Bennetts and Mrs Coleman who all work with us for some of the day! In addition we work closely with Canada Class (Mrs Andrews, Mrs Farr, Mrs Webb, Ms Reeves and Mrs Sheppard).
Read our curriculum map to find out what we are learning about this year!
What a lovely visit we had to the Cotswold Wildlife Park to round off our investigations about living things in science. We had a fascinating workshop on habitats and adaptations as well as the chance to meet many wonderful creatures!

Country Dancing - at school and the Folk Festival Schools' Day
During Term 5 we learnt some traditional country dances during our PE lessons. We then enjoyed learning a new dance from the experts when Mr and Mrs Bacon came to visit us.
The following day, the Year 6 children went to the Folk Festival Schools' Day. We had great fun and lots of exercise! Our photos give a flavour of the day!

THANK YOU so much for your fantastically generous support of our Sports Relief fundraising efforts. The children had an energetic and enjoyable morning completing a series of challenges!
As part of our Mega Maths work, the class had to work in teams to 'buy' materials to build a bridge to safely carry a toy car across a 'canyon' between two tables. They used their money very wisely and showed great ingenuity and team work to complete the challenge. Some were even prepared to sing to the building supplies merchant in order to bag a bargain!
Enterprising engineers in action!

Don't forget to use Purple Mash to do extra challenges at home!
We had great fun designing, making and testing boats. We had to consider whether they would float, be able to move across the water and also how they looked! Enjoy our photos of the results!
Class visit to Bristol harbourside and Aquarium 14th March.
We had a fantastic day learning all about how Bristol makes the most of the River Avon by using the harbour for housing and leisure activities. The Aquarium was a brilliant way to find out about the adaptations of aquatic creatures to their watery habitats!
Netball Tournament 12th March 2016. Well done to our fantastic girls for coming 5th and brilliant team work!
World Book Day 2016!
We had great fun coming in to school dressed as characters from books. The children took turns to tell the rest of the class about their character. Many thanks to all those at home who helped with the costumes!

Year 6 are getting ready for the Isle of Wight - just over a week to go! Do remember to return the necessary information forms to the office as soon as possible and check the KIT LIST. A light weight rain coat (with a hood) is an essential item and PLEASE clearly label all belongings with your name and Frogwell School.
Year 5 also have an exciting week to look forward to! Make sure that you return the letters about your trip to Basil Hill Barracks and Sex Education!
We have had a fantastic start to the year with some excellent research homework about life in the 1930s, well done! I am now enjoying looking at your wonderful Clarice Clift work, so keep it coming in - remember that homework must be in by no later than Wednesday!
