World Book Day!
We all dressed up as book characters for World Book Day. We enjoyed coming into school as our favourite character and read our favourite stories.
Can you guess who we were dressed up?
In term 4 we will be learning the Traditional stories of Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We will be learning the stories through sensory story telling.
We will have lots of opportunities to continue to practice and develop our early learning skills across all areas of the Early Years Foundations Stage curriculum. We will be practicing our mark making and fine motor skills in lots of different ways such as painting different characters from the story, cutting, drawing and using different materials to make marks in.
We will be learning to retell repetitive phrases from the stories and simply enjoy listening to different Traditional tales.
Our role play area this term will be the Giant's castle and the children have already started to grow their own beanstalks!
This term we are going to be visiting Roves Farm this is going to be a very busy and exciting term! Please keep checking the class page for photos!
Our topic theme this term is Stories, Songs and Rhymes.
We had a fantastic kick start to our topic this week as we visited the pantomime to watch Cinderella! We were all very excited about going on the bus! We all sat through the pantomime and joined in with the songs and some of the actions. We enjoyed our ice cream during the break ready for the second half of the show. The adults were very proud of the children from Peru class as for most of them it was their first experience of a pantomime, well done everyone!
This term we will be joining in with our favourite songs and learning new ones, as well as rhymes. We will be developing our listening and attention skills to listen to stories and joining in with them using our voices, signing and musical instruments. We will use a sensory approach within our art work this term where we will be exploring lots of different textures to create pictures related to our theme.
We will develop our mathematical skills, practicing to count objects more accurately and saying our number names in order to 10.
We will continue to practice our mark making skills through a multi-sensory approach whilst developing our fine and gross motor skills.
Keep looking to see pictures of our learning and the fun we have this term!
This term our topic is all about Dinosaurs. We will be making our own giant dinosaur who will live in our class room for the term, this will help us develop our painting and mark making skills. We will be doing lots of Dinosaur themed sensory play this term and Dinosaur themed mathematics activities (counting and shape)
